Coeval full vellum, calf lettering piece, gilt fillets and gilt ornaments on spine, edges rouged, marbled endpapers. Some toning to text, light soiling and contemporary owner manuscript signature before the title page. A handsome volume with a scarce title. Second and final edition. First published in 1753, this fascinating and well-illustrated book explore laws relating to coins and medals in Roman law, with some commentary on these topics in feudal and canon law. Topics range from weights and purity of metals to images and inscriptions. Few copies in North American libraries.
